The Next Posture Is The Best Posture

When was the last time you changed positions, or got up and moved? Before you read any further, get off your butt and do something—get a glass of water, take a pee break, do a jumping jack or a spinal twist.⁣⁣

Great. Now that we’ve got that out of the way I can tell you that whatever you just did is a fundamental tenet of the theory and practice of Body Conscious Design. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Our human bodies have evolved over thousands of years to move, to walk, to travel long distances, NOT to sit in chairs all day! As global contemporary work and leisure culture becomes increasingly sitting-oriented, we as chair sitters need to make more and more conscious--and REGULAR--efforts to move and change our postures. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Peter Opsvik, the Norwegian designer who originated this quippy quote, has produced over three dozen chairs in his Oslo studio that help us into diverse and anatomically beneficial postures, and that allow sitters to keep moving even while they're sitting.⁣⁣
